Text and Textile Flyer

The Texas Southern University student chapter of American Marketing Association (AMA) and TSUNAA COLABS Alumni Chapter cordially invite you to attend Text & Textile, an evening of literature-inspired wearable art. All tickets grant public access to an enriching two-day academic and fashion extravaganza. On April 20-21st, the Department of English will welcome presenters from as far away as Australia, India, and Serbia to discuss correlations between the literary, media, and fashion arts. Then, on the evening of April 21st, as a fitting culmination of the academic symposium, the 2023 LIT Fashion show will highlight the rich history of the university’s Fashion and Textile Design Department. The TSUNAA 2022 Convention

There is nothing better than coming together as a TSU family!

The Texas Southern National Alumni Association (TSUNAA) Convention was held in the Medical Center in Houston, TX this year.

Activities included workshops on building generational wealth, a Q&A session with the TSU administration, and the signature event which was the Diner en Bordeaux which was a formal dinner held on the plaza at Texas Southern University complete with a second line, and live music.

First board meeting of the new year

Did you know that this year is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the College of Liberal Arts & Behavioral Sciences (COLABS) formerly known as the College of Arts & Sciences? The COLABS alumni board members met to discuss ways to celebrate this important milestone. Are you a COLABS alum that would you like to get involved or are you just curious about what’s going on? Then feel free to contact us! TSU Needs You!

 

 

Thank you to those that were able to make it out to the meeting Saturday with special thanks also going out to St. Luke the Evangelist Episcopal Church @ 3530 Wheeler Ave for hosting our meeting. Elections were held for our new board for the upcoming cycle! As always, if you would like to get involved, please feel free to contact us either through social media, our website or via email.

Obtaining healthy food is one of the greatest needs in the Houston area, so the COLABS alumni chapter volunteered with fellow alumnus Richard Andrews with his “We Are One” Mobile Food Pantry which is held every Saturday from 11am – 2pm, at the Shrine of the Black Madonna’s Parking Lot, located at 5309 Martin Luther King Boulevard. If you are your group would like to volunteer, please contact Richard at  832-651-8135.
